How can I find out how much memory I can add on on to my computer?

I own an HP laptop that has 256MB of RAM. I'd love to donate another 256, but I do not want to burn up my processor. How can I find out how much memory I can safely join on to my computer?

You can add the maximum amount that your motherboard will allow. You can efficiently find this out by going here and putting in the spawn and model of your system:

My guess would be a max of 2GB, 2 available slots, 1GB max per slot... Current configuration is 256x0 or 128x128
look up your motherboard capabilites at the manufacters website
