How can I go and get rid of the "blue eyeshade of death"?

Whenever I boot up my Dell Latitude D600 laptop I automatically return with the blue screen. This happen no matter how I boot (safe mode, regular, etc). The error message read "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME". The technical information read "STOP: 0x000000ED (0x82398900. 0xc0000006, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)". All help is GREATLY appreciated.

Answer:

Boot from the window installation disk, and then run a repair installation
UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME = your rugged drive is kaput.

or Upgrade to Windows XP
Your hard drive is going desperate. it has some doomed to failure sectors. I would format the drive, reinstall operating system. If it happen again replace the hard drive.
