When I run to Control Panel and click on sounds etc. there is a box you can uncheck but it is not highlighted. I cannot find another opening to turn it on. Wehave had this computer for something like 5 years and always have sound. Could the children enjoy changed a setting we are not aware of. Please help. gratefulness.

click on start then on run. type within SNDVOL32.EXE
this should make the deity show up.
This is on all laptops. On the the ivories you should see a button named Fn, find that knob and hold, now, in that should be another key that have the speaker sound within either increasing the volume, decreasing the volume, or muting it. Try holding down Fn and pressing the mute knob. Keys are in different places on adjectives the laptops, so you have to do a short time search.
depends, if it tossed the driver, you should hold it back near the sndvol32.exe step, however, if you tossed the hardware and it's broken, you may want to consider a different machine, or replacing the nouns card if your machine supports such an upgrade....
