i bought a computer that come with vista. i simply formated the hardrive and now its dictum that it cant recognise the hardrive. any ideas?

Answer:

First you call for to make sure within are drivers for your laptop for XP on the manufacturer's website. Then start the laptop and put the XP CD surrounded by. Then restart the laptop and keep pressing F12, F10 or F8 (depending on the model) to go and get to the Select boot device menu.

When the XP installation asks where to install, you will own to delete the current vista partition, in recent times be carefull not to delete the recovery screen (if any) that may be first. Then select the empty space and press Enter to install here, XP will create partition and format it.
Start your computer and look for a file screen prompt on how to bring back to BIOS and\or Boot Sequence.

Select your CD drive as the 1st boot device

Put your XP Disc within the CD Drive and restart computer.

It should start the XP startup\install process
