How can I reinstall Windows XP Pro on a notebook PC next to Vista?

Vista won't work properly near the business network we use, so I own to reinstall XP Pro. However, the XP startup CD won't spot the hard drive, even after reformatting it from the Vista startup disk.

Answer:

You most credible won't be able to revert to an "earlier" text of Windows. I had equal issues with Windows XP Media Edition and XP Home.

XP medium edition wouldn't even let XP Home start up to the point that I could use the "format" remedy.

The only entity I can think of is if you enjoy a floppy drive, go to http://www.download.com and catch a little program call Killdisk. Copy it to a floppy disk, insert it in the drive, and reboot your PC.

NOTE: It will completely erase your not easy drive and you will lose everything on the drive, but you should be able to install XP Pro once you do it.

A lousy risk, but sometimes it's the only mode.

Hope this helps.
That variation of XP probably got invalidated when Vista be installed over it.

Unfortunately all version of XP invalidate the XP key they are installed over. Tough luck, blame M$.
You will necessitate to backup the data until that time formating the harddrive.

You can't just uninstall a Windows Vista nor can you do it beside Windows XP.

Operation System never go hindmost by uninstalling and never will.
