How Can I Force Aero Glass on Vista Home Pre. w/o v-card?

facilitate

Answer:

Aero effects can be overridden by registry keys located here:

HKLM/Software/Microsoft/DWM

The push button may not exist by default. Entering a DWord call "EnableMachineCheck" and setting it to 0 (zero) should prevent Vista from checking if the graphics processor is capable of displaying Aero. By calculation another DWord called "Glass" and setting it to a significance of 1 you should be able to force Aero Glass."

but why would you want to force it if your computer is sub-optimal for it? your computer would be incredibley slow and choppy. =/
The Aero cup display theme uses vector graphics to display on your monitor. In other words, it requires graphics processing to do so. Even if you could carry it to run on integrated graphics (which you probably have), it would be slow and unusable. You're better off any not using the Aero Glass, or splurging about 100 bucks or so for a graphics card near some memory.
