how can i acquire into a clean document and type in it on my apple macbook?

i can find to Documents, but cant seem to type in a document- completely lost here, and cant get a rare talent bar appointment till subsequent thursday

Open up the application in applications folder.
Highlight the Document by clicking on it once. Use the Get Info contained by File menu or use the short cut keys +I to see if it's locked surrounded by General, unlock it if it is. If not then you can try and silver it to Read & Write in Ownership & Permissions contained by the same Get Info porthole.
