how can i find out what type of memory stick is installed contained by computer?

i own a hp pavilion d4100e (cto) with 512mb and i want to incorporate more memory. thanks for your feedback.

You will entail to know the memory config of what you have right very soon. Open the box and see what you have. If nearby is 1 stick, then you know it is 1x512. If you hold 2 stick, then you know it is 2X256. If you own more than than, my guess is as good as any. See how several memory slots you have get underway and then buy what you obligation, and can have, from within.



Sometimes, adding more memory requires a bios upgrade to support it. Check near HP about that.
